Last Updated: April 22, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Trope's website, applications, APIs, and related services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these terms. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Separate Agreements

If you or your organization have entered into a separate written agreement with Trope, that agreement will control to the extent it conflicts with these terms. These terms otherwise apply to your use of the Services.

Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Services.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably up to date.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You may not share access in a way that violates your subscription terms, security controls, or applicable law.

What the Services Do

Trope provides workflow recording, guidance, automation, and related software features. The Services may evolve over time and may include experimental, beta, AI-assisted, or preview functionality. We may add, remove, or modify features at any time.

No Guarantee of Outcomes

The Services are tools that may assist with documentation, workflow capture, guidance, and automation. They are not a substitute for human review, business judgment, legal review, compliance review, security review, or professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating outputs and deciding whether they are appropriate for your use case.

Acceptable Use

  • You may use the Services only in compliance with applicable law and these terms.
  • You may not interfere with or disrupt the Services, attempt unauthorized access, or bypass security or usage limits.
  • You may not use the Services to violate the rights of others, including privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, or publicity rights.
  • You may not use the Services to transmit malware, spam, fraudulent content, or unlawful or harmful material.
  • You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Services except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.

Your Content and Data

You retain rights in content and data you submit to the Services, subject to the rights you grant us to host, process, transmit, display, and use that content as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit that content and data.

Third-Party Services

The Services may interoperate with third-party products, websites, hosting providers, identity providers, and other dependencies. Trope does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their acts, omissions, availability, or security practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by the terms and policies of those services.

Intellectual Property

Trope and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Services, including all related software, design, content, branding, and documentation, except for rights expressly granted to you under these terms. These terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Services, you grant Trope a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use that feedback for any lawful purpose without restriction or obligation.

Availability and Changes

We may suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including for maintenance, upgrades, security issues, abuse prevention, or business reasons. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every region or environment.

Fees and Paid Plans

Some features may require payment. If you purchase a paid plan, you agree to the pricing, billing terms, and plan limits presented at the time of purchase or in an applicable order form. Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed by Trope in writing.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Trope and its licensors disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. Trope does not warrant that outputs will be accurate, complete, secure, or fit for your particular needs.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trope and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, and personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, business interruption, or data, arising out of or related to the Services, even if informed of the possibility of those damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trope's aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid Trope for the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Trope and its affiliates, personnel, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we may provide notice by posting the updated terms on this page, through the Services, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Services after the updated terms become effective means you agree to the updated terms.
